Kay told me that she had been round penned with a saddle before and it showed. She had no issues with me tossing the saddle up, adjusting things and making noise with it. I will need to get a shorter girth though, as this one was on the top holes and not secure enough for riding.
I free lunged her a bit, then on the line and practiced ground tying. She never moved a foot. Good Girl!
Earlier in the day, she had her first turnout in a paddock. She has been turned out in the indoor arena during the days so far. Tomorrow, we will try her with the other mares. If she does well, she can stay there. Otherwise, she may have to be by herself in this paddock. She certainly enjoyed the grass today.

Oh Man you are killing me here! I love that mare! I have no idea how I could get her. She would make a perfect pair with Pai.
Grrr…. Drooling….
There are always more horses than we have time/space for aren’t there?
She and Vin make a good pair too. Right now, they are practically the same color, though I expect that to change when she sheds to her summer coat.
She is lovely, Simrat! Looks wonderful in that cute saddle. So, she has Jessie James bloodline? I will be following her progress closely. You should have no problems selling her when she is ready. Too many nice horses, too little time …so true….
This mare is really talented, I think she will make an excellent “Event Pony” Hunter/Showjumper. I will spread the word! We need these caliber horses out there!!! Good job Simrat!
Thanks for spreading the word. It would be great to get her into a home where she can shine.
