I delivered Vinnie to Tired Dog Ranch on Saturday. They are both loving life there. Here is a slide show of Vin’s introduction to part of the herd. If you want to go right to Flickr and see all the photos larger, here’s the link.

Lola, the bay roany sabino mare is now in the front pasture and Larry/Lorenzo has taken her place. I hear that he and Vin have become fast friends and sparring partners. I can’t wait to visit again and sit to watch their fun. I have to thank Amy Jo and Sally for taking such great care of these two for me. It is such a treat to see them out together, fully enjoying being horses. I have to say that Lily certainly enjoys the water left from the seasonal pond. She will miss it when it dries up…

  1. I wish I had my camera with me yesterday in the morning. After feeding everyone and a bit later observing the play between Larry and Vinnie, I went to Lil and Vin’s pasture to muck. You talk about all being quiet on the Western front – the three were aligned at a beautiful angle, grazing happily. Well, a beautiful black starling had decided to catch a ride on Vin’s back and Vin took no notice, almost grateful for the companion on his back. It was quite a sight. I am still in awe over the lack of antics or any “meeting” between Larry and Vinnie, who previously had never been formally introduced (except across the fence only briefly). The magic between this little family is quite calming and amazing.

Thank you for trusting your sweet babies to me, Simrat. They are lovely creatures, and I feel blessed to be in their presence.

  2. They both look truly happy… Vinnie is growing up to be a very handsome horse! He is going to be gorgeous when he is done growing up. Can’t wait to see the new baby.

Amy Jo and Sally are precious people for giving these two a chance at knowing pure harmony and horse heaven on their farm. It’s so obvious that Lily and Vin and very happy.

    ;) S
