Gratitude creates it’s own attitude. It can give you a new perspective, a new focus. I am going to use this day as my opportunity to see those things.

Paisano napping in the turnout among the tall orchard grass.

  • The heat has passed! For now, at least, we have cooler temps, clouds and a little spattering rain at times. Last night, Paisano was happily standing out in the breeze with his neighbors, enjoying it. And I was too!
  • My children took the initiative to rearrange the living room last weekend, cleaning in the process. I love it! Yes, the cleaning, of course, but I also really like the new look and function of the room. Nice!
  • I am rediscovering Sat Nam Rasayan. I had taken a few courses in years past. Now I found that Guru Dev had written a book and solidified concepts into words. Reading it, I find that I had integrated some of the ideas into how I worked with my horses and other aspects of my life. I look forward to exploring this further. You all will likely hear more about this topic. If you are now starting to wonder what I am talking about… Stay tuned!

  • Take a few minutes today to create your own Thankful Thursday.

    How:

  • Sit back and consider what you have to be thankful for. Listing three to five things is nice, but one will do.
  • Post about gratitude on your blog. If you don’t have your own blog, go ahead and write about what you are thankful for in the comments here instead.
  • If you blog, please link back here or leave a comment.
  • Feel free to tag other bloggers, if you like to do that, but it’s not necessary. This is not a meme that obligates you to do anything, but look for gratitude. Oh, and link back, and comment, that’s all I ask.

So Sat Nam Rayasam is about Kundalini Yoga? Can you tell me more?

    2. Simrat says:

Sat Nam Rasayn is a healing technique, based in working from the meditative, sensitive space. It’s about Attention and Intention. And I’m just barely starting to scratch the surface. :) But what developments I’ve had in my own consciousness in the last years, has incorporated these concepts. Through this practice, the healer is healed as well. It the same as the idea that to work with your horse, you have to work on yourself too…

Oh very cool, SImrat. Happy that you are exploring the Sat Nam Rasayn and writing about it.
And this Thankful Thursday is wonderful too.

    4. Simrat says:

Yes, I am excited about it. The timing was very good, as Guru Dev Singh is coming to town in a couple of weeks for a course. I’ve started to go to the local weekly practice sessions. I tried putting these on my calendar all last year. I just never went! I guess that I was developing toward it in some way, even when I didn’t show up.

The other day, I was feeling very stressed and smiled, remembering a technique of equalizing attention to everything equally. And the stress evaporated. My smile got broader and I laughed. :D

Are you familiar with SNR, aside from my mentions of it?

    5. Amanda says:

Nothing about SNR. But I started to do my own Thankful Thursdays on my little blog. You have been a very inspirational person to me and wanted to thank you for that.

    6. Simrat says:

I’m glad to hear that Amanda. :) Can you post a link to the public part of your blog? I don’t remember seeing it. Your link tried to take me to your admin area. ;)

    7. Amanda says:

Huh… I think it works now. I’m pretty new at this stuff so it might take me a time or two to get it right. ha ha ha

    8. Simrat says:

Cool beans! That worked. :D I’ve added you to my blog links and subbed to your RSS feed. I didn’t know that you had a blog. I look forward to catching up. ;)
