I just couldn’t quite stand the goat beard that he was sporting from the winter, so it is now gone. Also notice the mess he made of the cat’s water pan…
Then we went for a quick ride before dusk. I really like that I can just saddle him up and go out alone, no lunging or extra ground work needed. We passed a couple of his buddies on the way out and Vinnie had no issues what so ever in continuing on.
Here we are coming back over the bridge towards home. I love the little tuft of hair he has near the top of his right ear. It’s one of his little oddities.

He trucked along with the reins dropped on the saddle horn, while I took photos. Cars passed us, slowing down nicely most of the time. Vinnie was on autopilot. He’s also starting to pick up on neck reining, so I can steer sometimes with one finger and a bit of leg. What fun…

He looks great! I almost didn’t recognize him. Made me think again, that I’d like to have him. no no no,. it just passed through my mind. I love the way his color is turning out. the marking on his neck is yummy. His neck looks like its filling out nicely. Would love to see him in person.
And his gaiting is lovely! I have to get the video Pam took a couple of weeks ago up online.
He just pops into it, tikka-tikka-tikka-tikka, down the road. I’ll have to take the GPS along next time to see how fast his walk and amble are. He really moves out.
Is that your Christmas saddle blanket Donna made? It’s beautiful! And it looks wonderful on my boy. Yes, I am calling him my boy, even though I know he is your boy. You know how much I love him, Simrat. Cynthia says in the photos from Birthday Weekend Cowgirl Camp, Vinnie and I look alike – tuned in and with the same expression. How cute is that? I would like to try my Barefoot London on him. You’ve done an amazing job with him, Simrat. He and Luis will be so DARLING together some day.
Yup! That’s the pad and it’s wonderful! I do want to get a Dixie Midnight to put under it, so that it doesn’t get all haired and grimed up beyond rescue.
He is a darling and is ready to be your riding horse pretty soon now. Though the more I ride him, the more I want to KEEP him.
I still think sharing is a good idea….
I LOVE to share! XOXO
What a sweetheart Vinnie is, he has such adorable coloring. Does he have a problem with the cat?
No problem with the cat. He just plays with everything in his reach. And he gets impatient when tied still, so he paws. It’s his one bad habit, which he should outgrow with time and training.
The barn cats actually climb all over the tops of the stall walls. It’s excellent desensitizing for the horses.
