My Stubben saddle didn't sell at the last tack sale, so I thought I would try it on Paisano. Don't mind the price tag; I forgot to remove it! This was his first time with a traditional saddle on. He has worn my FreeForm treeless once before, but it weighs about a third what this one does. For this saddle to fit him, I would need to have the panels restuffed as it bridges on his back.

I started with some ground driving outside. Then brought him in the ring and free lunged him with the help of Maya, then added side reins. We ended our session with me standing on the mounting block and leaning my weight onto the saddle. Paisano couldn't have cared less.

Several photos here show his nice positive DAP trot, with the hind diagonal foot landing slightly before the front. This is a natural indicator of a horse that finds it easy to collect and be light in front.
