Gratitude creates it’s own attitude. It can give you a new perspective, a new focus. I am going to use this day as my opportunity to see those things.
Well, I am not sure quite yet just what to be thankful for this week… changes are afoot! So, deep breath and here we go!
I’m grateful that Vin and Lily are so incredibly content up at Tired Dog Ranch. It is a load off my worry list (not that I have one…really) to know that they are taken care of.
Happily, with three rides under out belt, I haven’t been dumped by Bonita yet, knock on wood. She did show me a bit of her sullen side today with no ill effects.
I get daily calls from my son, who is away on a school camping trip. I’m glad that my husband sprung for the cell phone. I wasn’t thinking of it until he was older. I guess thirteen isn’t too young to have one these days. It is great to hear what he’s been up to each day.
And the big change for me … Paisano is coming back home. He might not make it in time for the SMR meeting, but I will get to explore dressage with him for the rest of the year and beyond. I’m looking forward to that. It wasn’t what I had planned, but we aren’t always privy to what is in store for us. Only time will tell for Paisano and I. I am going to try not to make plans and just go with what comes.

The first photo I saw of him that sent a chill down my spine.

And when he was starting to grow up. He was a few months older here than Vinnie is now.

And September 2007, as a four and a half year old stallion.
Take a few minutes today to create your own Thankful Thursday.
How:
Sit back and consider what you have to be thankful for. Listing three to five things is nice, but one will do.
Post about gratitude on your blog. If you don’t have your own blog, go ahead and write about what you are thankful for in the comments here instead.
If you blog, please link back here or leave a comment.
Feel free to tag other bloggers, if you like to do that, but it’s not necessary. This is not a meme that obligates you to do anything, but look for gratitude. Oh, and link back, and comment, that’s all I ask.

This is all good Simrat. It’s tough I know. BOY do I know!! Just take time to really look into what is right. Try not to let pressures force your choices. That’s the Wisdom from my experiences that I can share with you and hopefully empower you. Paisano has already removed himself from me, stepped back. I had a long talk with him, said your name many times and pictured him with you in my mind while letting him know that he will be going home. He seemd pleased and gave me that smile that he has in his eye, then stepped back.
Now that we have settled into the idea, it feels right. Tonight I’m going to check out a full care barn and tomorrow another. They are on opposite sides of town. I’m leaning toward the one closer to Tired Dog Ranch.
It would make visits easier. It’s more expensive though. I have to take all my questions and weight the services vs. costs. Being between barns certainly adds to the whole transition!
Gurunam said that she was glad too. That she missed him. She’s actually going to go riding with a friend from school today! I was shocked.
And happy….
We will stay a three horse family.
And in another year, they will all be ridable! What a concept! I did always have this picture in my mind of the family staying together, Lily, Paisano & Vinnie…. As it often is in my life, the journey is not a straight path.
Thanks for taking care of him these past months.
Three horse family is what I have always seen for you also. He is fat, out of shape from standing in these dog-gammit small corrals that I have. But it won’t take you long to get him toned up again. I am sure he will relish all the attention, and I would throw Gurunam up there and let her truck along on him. He took care of Krissy when she road him around the property bare back in a halter. He’ll be a trustworthy and treasured family riding horse in another year with just a wee bit more exporsure to odd ball things.
I see perfect harmony coming down the road.
