This blog post was so fun to read :)

With me being a newbie to the horse world, I found it very overwhelming. All the books, DVD's, techniques, ideas, philosophies, etc. are enough to send someone into a spiral of confusion. Someone like me ;) I have found that it's easy to get sucked into what everyone else is doing with there horses and you tend to those focus on what is acutally happening between you and your horse. This can be very frustrating and discouraging, I know I've been there. This is when you drop everything you have in your hands (lead rope, handy stick or whatever training contraption you are gripping onto) and go hug your horse or sing to it or stare and it and just breathe, letting the both of you come back down to earth and relax. Im my opinion, situations like these are sometimes the best lesson you and horse can have, learning to really talk and listen to eachother :)
